Creating a test lab

Edwin I work on several products and I like to keep up to date by learning new ones. One of the most indispensable tools in my arsenal is my test lab. I remember when I studied for my first MCSE certification back in 1998 when I had 5 PCs built out of spare hardware. I needed to create a domain and I needed clients. I also remember how my credit cards were maxed out but my only concern was breaking into the IT industry.

One of them is running about 8 virtual machines at any given moment. Is it expensive? Not as expensive as buying 8 PCs worth of hardware and it gives me way more versatility. Here are a few tips on decreasing the costs.
